Early bookings for Cunard’s 2013 Winter Cruises

Despite the economic gloom, demand for Cunard’s longer winter voyages and full world cruises continues to grow and, for the first time, all three of the Cunard Queens will be offering long far away voyages in winter 2013.

There will be world cruises on Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria while Queen Elizabeth will offer a new 91-day voyage through the South Pacific and New Zealand with a choice of durations.

Talking about the increasing interest in winter voyages, Peter Shanks, Cunard President and Managing Director, says “More people than ever before are looking to escape the British winter and experience all the world has to offer at outstanding value for money. Our ships are welcomed warmly around the world with many arrivals attracting thousands of welcoming boats and onlookers.

“Our guests look forward to the thrill of standing below our famous red funnels as we enter Sydney Harbour, sail under the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco or experience the hustle and bustle of New York and Hong Kong.

“The value of a longer voyage against the backdrop of so many destinations is remarkable. In 2013 guests can travel right around the world on Queen Mary 2 from just £99 per day – for many that is cheaper than staying at home.”

Queen Mary 2’s 106-night World Voyage down to Australia departing Southampton in January 2013 includes overnight stays in Dubai, Hong Kong and Cape Town. She will make maiden calls in Abu Dhabi, Colombo, Langkawi, Ko Samui, Lyttleton and Port Elizabeth. To give guests the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the country and its coastline there are five New Zealand ports, also available as a ‘Round New Zealand Voyage’ to and from Sydney. Plus there’s a range of shorter holiday sectors joining up key cities around the world.

Queen Elizabeth’s January 2013 cruises to and from New Zealand takes an in-depth visit to the South Pacific with a whole host of maiden calls including Papeete, Bora Bora, Kahalui and Hilo (both in Hawaii)…

Queen Victoria will cross three oceans and undertake passages along two impressive engineering projects – the Panama and Suez Canals. As well as overnight stays in Sydney, Hong Kong, Shangai and Dubai, Queen Victoria will make nine maiden calls including Brisbane, the Whitsundays, Darwin and Bali.

And for the adventurous there’s a choice of sailing half way round the world on Queen Victoria and returning home on Queen Elizabeth or Queen Mary 2. Passengers can choose to disembark and overnight in Auckland awaiting the arrival of Queen Elizabeth the following day or disembark Queen Victoria in Sydney and return home on flagship Queen Mary 2 via Asia and Africa.

The cruises will go on sale on 14 July 2011 at 1300 hours and in addition to complimentary onboard spend offers,  early bookers on Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria will benefit from an additional 10 per cent saving available on bookings made by 31 August.
